Job Description

TITLE:                      PART-TIME GRANT WRITER

SUPERVISED BY:  DIRECTOR

 The Unemployment Information Center, a 35 year old nonprofit organization that provides direct services to low-income and unemployed workers in the city of Philadelphia and also advocates on issues facing the poor and unemployed, is seeking a part-time Grant Writer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Part-Time Grant Writer is responsible for all aspects of grant identification, application submission and reporting.

GENERAL DUTIES: 
  • Research and identify new funding sources;
  • Prepare and write all funding proposals and supporting documents in response to funding opportunities;
  • Maintain and implement annual funding calendar;
  • Write all interim and final funding reports as required;
  • Work with Operations Manager and other staff on data collection and reporting;
  • Engage with foundation/funding source staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years experience desired in developing non-profit funding proposals with demonstrated success of fundraising from foundations, corporations and government agencies. Excellent written communication skills and organizational skills are essential to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Must have a working knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software.

This is a salary position based on 20 hours per week.
