COMMUNITY ORGANIZING INTERN
Work with the PUP's Organizer to cultivate coalitions, plan and develop statewide outreach and do turnout around PUP meetings and events. Participate in direct contact with PUP's base of low-income workers and those out-of-work, as we move them toward directing progressive change in the city of Philadelphia and the state. Develop skills and experience in working with individuals across the economic spectrum, work with major labor and religious institutions in the city of Philadelphia and help execute legislative and communications plans to move issues relevant to poor communities and communities of color in Pennsylvania. Some data entry. Significant phone work, both cold calls and turnout calls. Training provided. Contact brussell@philaup.org
MAJOR DONORS INTERN
Help PUP cultivate a base of major donors in the Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania area. Plan add-on events around PUP fundraisers, build donor database and lists, research potential donors and execute contact strategies. Contribute toward building a long term base of support among the cities philanthropic and political donors for the purpose of strengthening the solvency of one of the cities oldest and most effective social change institutions.
